Diwali celebrations with new friends!

This year for Diwali, we were so lucky to have been able to celebrate with some of the new friends we made here in Massachusetts!  We threw a Diwali party at our home, and the kids loved dressing up in Indian clothes and doing some Rangoli (decorations done during Diwali that are thought to bring good luck)!  We used colored rice to do our Rangoli, and even though most of it ended up on the floor, the kids had a blast playing with it!

Sebastian loved the rice table!
Noah loved the basketball goal and the slide!

Gigi was a little Indian princess!
Abby was a little supermodel posing for the camera, and Rylan was definitely into the rice!
It was a messy activity, but the joy that Keshav showed while doing it  made it all worth it!

Another activity that the kids enjoyed was reading a children's book about Diwali and learning about the significance of this holiday.  We are so happy we were able to share our culture with our new friends on this auspicious day!

  1. Wow, Krishna!! This is so brilliant and creative!! What a clever way to celebrate our traditions with little tots! I love the dress-up idea too! The girls Krish's age love dressing up (the boys not as much anymore), but I wish I had thought of that too for our Diwali play date! Anyway, the kids look adorable, and it looks like they had so much fun!! Nice work! :) Keshav is very lucky to have a Mommy like you!
