Vidya's 3rd birthday!

Vidya is no longer a toddler!  She is officially a big girl :)  And she has grown so much in the last year!  I was just looking at her 2-year-old post, and I cannot believe how big she looks now!  She is growing like a reed and continues to be tall for her age...definitely something she gets from her daddy!  In addition to her physical growth, her temper has also grown quite a bit.  If something does not go her way, she definitely makes it known with her loud screams and cries.  Hopefully as she grows in her 3rd year of life, these tantrums will lessen!

One big change that occurred this year is that Vidya started school!  She is in the same class that Keshav was in for the past 3 years with Mrs. Vajjhala and Mrs. A, and she loves it so far!  It has only been a couple of weeks, but she already has her best friends and loves learning all the new songs in her class.  She is learning how to read and can phonetically sound out 3-5 letter words.  We are currently working on letter blends and long and short vowels, and she gets better everyday!  She loves doing math on her fingers (she is doing 3 + 3 in the picture above) and enjoys counting.  But her absolute favorite things to do are to use her creativity.  She gets so excited to play with play dough, paint, draw and color.  She spends most of her time during recess in the sandbox making cakes and cookies with her best friend Aidan, and she loves making food for us in her play kitchen at home.  She will cook with me in the real kitchen as well along with Keshav bhai, and I love doing that activity with both of them (even though they always want to make treats)!

She has such a wonderful personality and is always making us laugh!  Recently, she has really developed her sense of smell and is always asking everyone, "What I smell?"  She loves vegetables but won't eat any fruits except bananas!  It is so interesting to see how different her preferences are compared to Keshav.  She is the absolute best cuddler in the world!  She loves to snuggle and get close to you and shower you with kisses.
