Celebrating on Ganesh Chaturti
Ganesh Chaturti is a very special day in our house because Vidya was born on this Hindu holiday! So, according to the Indian calendar, yesterday was her first birthday! We wanted to celebrate in a special way, so we first did an art project. It was Vidya's first time finger painting! I made some edible finger paint using flour, sugar, salt, water and food coloring. It's a good thing it was edible, because Vidya ate quite a bit of it! She loved squishing the paint in her fingers and splashing it on the paper (and floor, and on her pants, and pretty much everywhere)! Keshav also had a great time with this activity, and both of them ended up being quite a big mess (which led to a bubble bath afterwards). After their masterpieces dried, I made them into a Ganesh to celebrate Ganesh Chaturti!

After the kids were cleaned up and fresh, we celebrated Vidya's birthday by eating some yummy chocolate laddoos (eggless chocolate cake balls)! This was Vidya's first time eating chocolate, and she was a big fan just like her parents and brother :)

This is the first of many birthday celebrations for our sweet baby girl. I can't believe it's already been a year!!
A very happy first birthday to Vidya. We can feel the joy of parents, grand-parents, and..... the big brother Keshav. The pictures are so much fun and the videos of Keshav and Vidya are a real treat. Have a super celebration of Vidya's first birthday. A shout out to Roshni! Meenamami & Pankajmama
