United Nations Day at Keshav's school!

Today was a special day at Keshav's school: United Nations Day!  The kids have been learning about the different continents and cultures around the world.  The teachers do an amazing job helping the kids understand that each person is different from another, but it is important to have unity and peace among us.  Today, they were able to show many of the things they are learning to the parents!  We were invited to join the kids in the classroom this morning, and they asked us to have the kids wear an outfit from their own cultures.  Keshav was very excited to wear his Garba outfit and tell his class about his culture during circle time!

One thing that Keshav was particularly excited to show us was how they all sing his new favorite song (which is in Spanish)!

I had a great time spending the morning in the classroom with him!  In the evening, the school had a United Nations potluck dinner which we attended.  Everyone had cooked different types of food from around the world, and they had activities for the kids to do such as arts and crafts and henna tattoos!  Vidya and Daddy also came with us to this event, and it was nice to see Keshav's teachers and friends there!  I really appreciate the diversity and attention to culture and customs that the school contains, and we are so blessed to be a part of the Keystone Montessori community!
