Welcome to our blog!

Vivek and I wanted to share some news about Keshav and Vidya on a frequent basis with our close family and friends, and hopefully this will be a good way to do so! Please visit often, and I will do my best to keep things updated!

Kindness Elves 2014

In December of 2014, our kindness elves, Abe and Ali, came back from the North Pole!  And they have had some fabulous suggestions on ways to be kind to those around us this year.  I have also taken on the role as the Community Service Chair of the Chelmsford Mother's Club, so it has been great getting the kids involved in community service activities throughout the area!  Here are some of the things we did this past December!

They are so happy to be back for the whole month!

Keshav made and painted salt dough ornaments to decorate our tree!

We wrote down 20 things Keshav loves most about Daddy and put them in
a jar that Daddy took to work!  Now, when he is having a tough day, he can
pull out one of the slips of paper to read to brighten his day!

Just like last year, Keshav made gingerbread play dough to give to all his
friends at his playgroup Christmas party!  He also got a gift to give for their
gift exchange!

As a part of the Chelmsford Mother's Club,
I ran a winter coat collection and
collected over 60 coats to donate to the
Lowell Wish Project!
Keshav and Daddy went to bring
the coats to the donation site,
and he was even featured on
their Facebook page!

Keshav's buddy Dhruv from Alpine, TX had drawn him a picture and mailed
it to him, so Keshav made a thank you card to send back to him!

When Daji was going to come visit, the elves knew that he loved to snack on
cashews, so Keshav made a cashew tin as a gift for him!

Keshav's best bud Sebastian was getting a new dog, so
we bought and delivered a basket of goodies and treats
for Roo to welcome him to the family!

At various holiday parties, Keshav and many other kids had made holiday
cards for the veterans at the nearby VA hospital!  Keshav and Vidya came
with me to the VA hospital to deliver the cards so that they could be distributed
to the hospitalized veterans.

Just like last year, we adopted a family this year for the holidays.  We bought
them Christmas presents and delivered them to be given to our family that
couldn't afford gifts of their own.

One day, Abe and Ali brought Keshav new toothbrushes and told him to brush
his teeth really well so he could give lots of big smiles to everyone today!

We collected food from our
neighbors to take to the food pantry!

Keshav and I went out to a local nursery to find some plants to give to his
teachers for the holidays!  He picked out the succulents himself and loved
putting them in their jars!

Finally, Keshav and Vidya made hand/footprint ornaments to take
to Kentucky with us for our ornament exchange!

Keshav really got into the spirit of giving this year and understood even more about the importance of giving back to our community.  I think Abe and Ali will be back next year, and I hope to get Vidya more involved in 2015!

  1. This annual post is one of my favorites of yours! You are amazing Krishna for teaching these littles at such a young age to take opportunities to show kindness in so many various ways in their own lives and throughout the community! Together, you are both making such a difference! Thank you for all the inspiration as well! We are also learning about kindness acts this month and hope we can offer ideas too! :)
