Keshav's 4th Birthday Party!

Even though we celebrated Keshav's birthday multiple times in May, we had been talking about doing a dinosaur-themed party for a long time, and I definitely didn't want to disappoint him!  So, after we got back from all of our traveling, we threw Keshav a dinosaur birthday bash for his 4th birthday!  He was so excited to invite all of his local friends, and all his grandparents flew in to enjoy the day with him as well!  I had a great time with the dinosaur theme :)  There was a Dino Dig set up in the sandbox complete with dinosaur excavation kits for all the kids!  All the food (Dino-bites) was dinosaur-themed, and we called the whole party Keshav's Jurassic World!  It certainly felt like we were in Jurassic times with all the rain we had that morning, but we were ready for it with our tents and tarps!

Dino dig! Finding all those dinosaur
bones is hard work!

A big hit at the party was the face painting!  We had a professional face paint artist come and set up in the basement, and the kids loved getting their faces all decked out!  Keshav chose a triceratops face and Vidya got some pretty flowers on her arm!  Even Dadi got some purple flowers done!  Jackie is an incredible artist!

We also had a dinosaur educator come in and do a presentation for all the kids!  Paulette Morin goes to local schools and libraries to do presentations on dinosaurs and fossils, and she did an amazing job teaching the kids about these topics!  She read a gigantic storybook that she wrote about dinosaurs to the kids, and she brought dozens of real fossils to show the kids!  Everyone, including the little kids, big kids, and adults learned something new from Paulette, and we are so thankful that we had her at the party!

And, of course, it wouldn't be a birthday party without some yummy cake!  We got our cake made by Cakes by Michelle, who did Vidya's cake last year, and it turned out beautifully!  The inside was chocolate cake with chocolate icing, which is Keshav's favorite!

We ended the party with a little Father's Day celebration since the party was on Father's Day this year!  Vivek and I put together a slide show with all of the Daddies that were celebrating with us that day, and each Daddy got a book that they could take home and read with their kids!

We are so thankful to all of our friends and family for joining us and making Keshav feel so special and loved on his 4th birthday!  It was a rainy day, but it is because of all of the wonderful people in our lives that it was absolutely perfect!
