Hurricane Sandy

So we thought that by moving to Boston, all we would have to endure weather-wise would be harsh and snowy winters.  But over the past couple of months, we've experienced an earthquake and now a hurricane!  We must have brought the earthquake with us from California and the hurricane with us from New Orleans!

Well, this Monday, Hurricane Sandy made its way over to the East Coast, and we got to see the storm first hand from our window.  We were lucky that Vivek was off of work that day due to the weather, so we all spent a day at home together.  Keshav was fascinated by the rain and strong winds, but I think his favorite part of the day was playing with Mommy and Daddy!

Watching some Caillou
Crazy rain storm!

It's slide time!

Playing with my awesome new
train set from Dadaji and Dadi!

Can I see the storm from here?

The next day, we lost our electricity for almost 24 hours!  That night, Keshav had a candlelight dinner, and Daddy had some fun with our camera making letters (V and K) with the candles and a slow shutter speed :)  Ahh, the creative things you do when there's no TV to distract you!  We're happy that this storm is over, and we're bracing for the upcoming winter!

  2. Aww such sweet pictures! Y'all really are experiencing all kinds of different weather out there! I didn't know you were affected by an earthquake as well! I love the picture of Keshav looking out the window at the rainstorm and also the ones of him playing with all his toys indoors. I like the Mickey decals on the walls too! :) They're so Keshav! His play fort looks huge!

The candlelight dinner is so cute and I love the creativity behind the V and the K! You guys really had quite the rainstorm experience! Glad to know that you are all okay though. :)
