Vidya turned 5 months old today! She is becoming a beautiful little sweetheart, and we are loving every minute of watching her grow. One of my favorite things is watching her squeal in delight when she gets excited about something. She is rolling over now, although she doesn't like to do it much because she does not like to be on her belly. She sleeps all by herself in her crib now, and when we peek in, she is sleeping on her side! She loves putting her hands in her mouth, especially her right hand pointer finger knuckle. We are starting to get a glimpse of her personality now! She is a very calm and quiet baby who loves to look around and take in all her surroundings. She definitely has favorites and dislikes. Her favorite book right now is "Where is Baby's Belly Button?" by Karen Katz, and her least favorite is "My Friends" by Taro Gomi (which is funny because "My Friends" used to be one of Keshav's favorites at this age)! Her favorite song is "Slippery Fish," which we sing to her in the bath and leads to a lot of smiles and squeals! She still loves sitting in her swing, but she has started to enjoy some time in her doorway jumper as well. And she loves playing with her little doll! It is so cute seeing her be more interested in toys.
One thing we did today to celebrate her 5 month old birthday was to give her some oatmeal for the first time! While she spent most of the time figuring out what to do with the spoon when it was put in her mouth, I think she enjoyed it! It will be fun figuring out what solid foods she likes in the next few months. Let's hope she's not as picky as her big brother!
