Welcome to our blog!

Vivek and I wanted to share some news about Keshav and Vidya on a frequent basis with our close family and friends, and hopefully this will be a good way to do so! Please visit often, and I will do my best to keep things updated!

New Orleans Trip-Part 2-Audubon Nature Institute

The great part about living in an amazing city like New Orleans is being able to explore all of the kid-friendly activities it has to offer!  Daji and Dadi got a membership to the Audubon Nature Institute, and this includes unlimited visits to the Audubon Zoo, the Aquarium of the Americas, and the Insectarium and Butterfly Garden!  We were in New Orleans for 2 full weeks, so we were able to visit all of those (and we even went to the zoo twice)!

Our first trip was to the Insectarium with Dadi.  Keshav was a little scared of all the bugs, but he braved through all of the exhibits :)

Checking out the ants
Sitting on a big earthworm

"I'm so brave!"
Vidya intrigued by the cockroaches!

Butterfly garden
She loved watching the butterflies :)

Our next trip was to the aquarium with Daji. It was so fun to see Vidya looking at all the beautiful underwater creatures!

Adorable penguins!

And of course we had to visit Keshav's favorite place...the zoo!  We were lucky that Nana and Nani were visiting along with Ami Mami's parents and grandmother.  Vivek's friend Tony and his niece and nephew also joined us there! We all enjoyed a beautiful day outside seeing the animals at the zoo!

Seeing flamingos with Nana!
Big smiles with Nani!

Coming down from Monkey Hill
Alligator in the swamp!

The whole group :)
Riding the carousel with Daji and Dadi!

We actually went back to the zoo on another day because we didn't have time to see the dinosaur exhibit the first time we went.  And we all know how much Keshav loves dinosaurs!

It was a rainy day, but that didn't stop us from having fun!
Three horns on a triceratops!
The Coelophysis was his favorite!
